Churchill Downs - Louisville, KY.
Premier racetrack located in Kentucky, famous for the twin spires. Hosts
the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Oaks and other big races. The Kentucky
Derby is considered the most exciting 2 minutes in all of sports. Site
has hosted several Breeders Cup Events. Recently added night racing on
select dates. Also features a museum which pays tribute to the past champion horses, trainers and jockeys. Pat Day is the all time winning jockey at Churchill Downs, he now has his own race named after him. He won an incredible 2,482 races here, 156 of those stakes races including a Kentucky Derby. Keeneland - Lexington, KY. The other monster track located in Kentucky, host of many famous horse races including the Blue Grass Stakes. Truly a majestic site for horse racing. Also home to some of the largest bloodstock sales in the world. Now an official site for the Breeders Cup Championship races. Kentucky Downs, Franklin KY - Offers one of the most beautiful and unique turf courses in the USA. Modeled after a European turf course, it features slight changes in elevation. A long, sweeping turn to the final stretch and then a quarter mile exciting dash to the wire. While they offer a limited amount of racing dates, usually in September, this is a hidden gem in Kentucky. They also offer casino slot machines and 750 Exacta Systems terminals, which offer replays of horse races that you can bet on. |
